For now, working with someone at, or closer to, home, and clearly defining schedules and work routines, will heal all. This applies to the United States as well (Cancer Sun, Cancer Jupiter) so around December 30 expect the unexpected on the international stage. As 2024 comes to a close, with its crazy communications – and non-communications – it is time to call a truce. To grab onto any olive branch and not let go!

You could easily lose your temper after the new year, particularly when retrograde Mars enters your sign and first house Monday, January 6. And from now, December 23 until February 23, watch everyone’s short fuses around you. Mars is in retrograde!
Sexy Mars is traditionally the Roman god of war – Ares in the Ancient Greek – and it affects us ALL. Right now, Mars is in a particularly nasty retrograde, making everyone’s fuses extra short, making us impulsive, impatient, fiery, quick to offense (and to offend), and causing outright fights. Avoid confrontation during this retrograde. The retrograde can also make you tired, and you will require more rest. It began December 6 and lasts until February 23, 2025. Our environment is highly charged at this time, and you need to take extra good care of yourself. Take a breath before you speak or react – or post. Stay in peace.
Mars is closer to Earth when it retrogrades so its power is stronger on us. It’s not as easy for arguments to blow over or for anger to subside. Mars reaches its peak in the cycle, which is its opposition with the Sun on January16, 2025, midway through the retrograde cycle when Mars is closest to Earth. It will feel like the world is on fire.
Full disclosure: I am most worried about Monday, January 6, an infamous anniversary for the U.S., when retrograde Mars will move into the country’s sun sign of Cancer. I am not looking forward to this day.

Mid-month – on Monday, January 13 to be exact – there is a full Moon – your emotional ruler – in your sign and in your first house: triple whammy. You may just burst out of your skin on that day. A word of warning: You will feel emotional. Also, there will be a bit of a public spotlight on you, so any potential meltdowns may go viral…!
Then, a financial opportunity of a lifetime is handed to you at the end of January. This opportunity is well deserved, and in honor of your work and experience. It will make you proud of yourself. It’s important to play and exercise in this world, too. And you have been bearing a huge burden. Your pain threshold has got awfully high.
Yes, you may be tired from the year – and exhausting, emotional last few years – thanks to all the tests planet Saturn put you through – but you need to regard yourself as a valuable commodity.
And you really have missed some people. You’ve been sitting on your own planet for such a long time now. Even married and attached Cancers, you have been in your own world. You are extremely loved, no doubt about that. So, you are stepping out of your isolation, and you are ready to love and play again. You will look different at the end of this time, too.
