This has been, without doubt, the most disastrous Mercury Retrograde EVER, that I have ever experienced. (How has it been for you?) Not only did parts of my text disappear while I was typing, but the whole of Virgo (go figure – ruled by Mercury) and the whole of Aquarius: GONE.
Completely gone.
Considering each sign takes me minimum 8 hours, with 2 hours research and preparation (I draw up each chart by hand – not complaining, it’s just how it works best), I was ready to swallow cyanide.
Not really – but I was very upset. Very, VERY upset.
I believe I was meant to find this on Aquarius Thomas Edison – and it may have saved my sanity. I share this with you now – you can always go on reading your horoscope, I know you want to, and come back to this later! –
In 1914, the great (Aquarius) inventor Thomas Edison experienced a devastating hardship. His entire laboratory burned down to the ground, and years’ worth of his work was ruined. Newspapers described the situation as the worst thing to happen to Edison, but that was a lie.
Edison didn’t see it that way at all. The inventor instead chose to see his circumstances as an invigorating opportunity to rebuild and re-examine much of his current work. Edison reportedly said shortly after the fire, “Thank goodness all our mistakes were burned up. Now we can start again fresh.”
WOW. If Thomas Edison (born February 11, 1847, Aquarius Sun, Gemini Jupiter) could be so positive…
And then I remembered the only other story of its kind I had heard – and this was from years ago – about the only copy of “War and Peace” being left by Tolstoy on a train…lost forever, his only copy. And, as many of you know, it is a MASSIVE novel. And we only had paper then, no computers, no Xerox copies – that was it!
And Tolstoy had to write it all over again, from scratch. And he also said – positive, enduring soul – that it was better the second time round! And guess what? Tolstoy was born VIRGO Sun (Scorpio Jupiter), on September 9, 1828.
And the two horoscopes I had lost completely – GONE?
Yes.
Burned to the ground and lost on a train?
Aquarius and Virgo.
So, thank you, Edison, and thank you, Tolstoy, and thank you, my dear Reader.
And, finally, our great webmaster Jay was so lovely and helpful in putting up a humorous take on Mercury Retrograde that I had sent him for you dear readers – the Mercury Retrograde Body Mitten! Did you see it? I hope so!
Please read it if not – it really will make you laugh. It is in the “Recent News” links at the bottom of the Home page in green: “Mercury Retrograde Strikes!”
Again, I thank you. From the bottom of my heart. You all keep me going more than I can ever say.
With love, Madalyn
