Sexy Mars is traditionally the Roman god of war – Ares in the Ancient Greek – and it affects us ALL. Right now, Mars is in a particularly nasty retrograde, making everyone’s fuses extra short, making us impulsive, impatient, fiery, quick to offense (and to offend), and causing outright fights. Avoid confrontation during this retrograde. The retrograde can also make you tired, and you will require more rest. It began December 6 and lasts until February 23, 2025. Our environment is highly charged at this time, and you need to take extra good care of yourself. Take a breath before you speak or react – or post. Stay in peace.
Mars is closer to Earth when it retrogrades so its power is stronger on us. It is not as easy for arguments to blow over or for anger to subside. Mars reaches its peak in the cycle, which is its opposition with the Sun on January16, 2025, midway through the retrograde cycle when Mars is closest to Earth. It will feel like the world is on fire.
Full disclosure: I am most worried about Monday, January 6, an infamous anniversary for the U.S., when retrograde Mars will move into the country’s sun sign of Cancer. I am not looking forward to this day.
YOU need to watch out most for the full Moon of Monday, January 13 in your eleventh house of friends, community, and professional colleagues, as this is when it will be easiest for you to lose your temper. The eleventh house is a public house so whatever you say at this time is likely to be broadcast.

So, brilliant analyst though you are, December’s end is not the time to trust your thinking and come up with major decisions about your life. Just let it be until the new year, particularly concerning anything financial. You will be excited as 2025 comes in. End of the year. Pretty powerful stuff. You will notice immediate effects. For now, just enjoy the holidays. Your fifth house activity means there are plenty of opportunities for fun, parties, romance, and creativity.
And you can notice how others respond to you. No matter how you are thinking about yourself now, to others you are hot stuff. Do you know, in fact, how many people are envying you? They wish they had your talent, your looks, your life. Your talent, particularly creative talent, is off the charts with all the major planetary activity in your fifth house.
Go ahead with those creative ideas you have in your mind. Much profit comes from these in the first half of 2025. Whether it’s an artistic endeavor or a business start-up, do it, Virgo, do it!
And the fifth house also rules romance and true love. You’ve been thinking, talking, analyzing nothing but your home lately. Now it’s love’s turn. Romance becomes brilliant. But you need to trust it. Not get all crazy about it. I want to warn you about one thing more in January. That is about romance. Neptune clouds your thinking in terms of your relationships (seventh house). Saturn, planet of hard lessons, is also in this seventh relationship house (until May 24, 2025.) Don’t be, feel, or act, desperate. Also, please be patient with friends and professional colleagues. These clear up and move forward positively as March begins.
In fact, and I shouldn’t be saying this, but I will, you have the most interesting forecast of all for this January. And for the first few months of 2025!

You will be knowing this as the new year approaches and passes. It is a very profound time for you. Give yourself permission to have a few tears. You have fought a great battle and survived.
On Sunday, January 19, the awesome Sun moves from your fifth house to your sixth house, warming a new domestic routine for you. One particularly involving pets, household chores, the way you eat and how you take care of your daily health.
