So what might you need to watch out for this happy holiday season?
You need to watch out for all the short fuses around you. Mars is in retrograde!
Sexy Mars is traditionally the Roman god of war – Ares in the Ancient Greek – and it affects us ALL. Right now, Mars is in a particularly nasty retrograde, making everyone’s fuses extra short, making us impulsive, impatient, fiery, quick to offense (and to offend), and causing outright fights. Avoid confrontation during this retrograde. The retrograde can also make you tired, and you will require more rest. It began December 6 and lasts until February 23, 2025. Our environment is highly charged at this time, and you need to take extra good care of yourself. Take a breath before you speak or react – or post. Stay in peace.
Mars is closer to Earth when it retrogrades so its power is stronger on us. It is not as easy for arguments to blow over or for anger to subside. Mars reaches its peak in the cycle, which is its opposition with the Sun on January16, 2025, midway through the retrograde cycle when Mars is closest to Earth. It will feel like the world is on fire.
Full disclosure: I am most worried about Monday, January 6, an infamous anniversary for the U.S., when retrograde Mars will move into the country’s sun sign of Cancer. I am not looking forward to this day.
YOU need to watch out most for the full Moon of Monday, January 13 in your eighth house of funds with others, as well as intimate issues, as this is when it will be easiest for you to lose your temper.
With retrograde Mars moving between your eighth and ninth houses, there’s likely to be aggravation with those at a distance, as well as with mutual resources and monies (also with others.)

The good news? Your ruler lucky Jupiter continues to bless and protect – and enables you to profit the most from – your seventh house of marriage and partnerships. All the way until June 9, 2025. Furthermore, your ruler Jupiter which has been retrograde turns direct in this seventh house on Tuesday, February 4, and releases a lot of love into your life! You will not lack in suitors. This will give you an intense feeling of relief.
So even with the aggravation with others you will be given lucky breaks in this area until June 9, 2025. Peaking in February. Don’t push your luck, of course. Remain grateful.
You know how awesome Sagittarius Jupiter W.B. Yeats said that one looks back to one’s youth as to a cup that a mad man dying of thirst left half tasted? As January gets underway don’t let this be you. Do not waste this golden opportunity window of the social. You should go to every single event you can, you should surround yourself with people, you should get out there as much as possible! Even though it is post-holiday recovery time and winter when you might prefer to be curled up by the fire, you must make the effort, Sagittarius.
You are essentially building a new life for psychological renewal. And the universe supports you all the way in this.
