It’s a time for peace and quiet reflection. You’ve made some pretty dramatic moves recently, and now it’s time to process them. And you only have a couple of weeks to do so. (So plan a retreat. You also may feel exhausted.) After June 29 your brilliant diplomacy nudges an impossible domestic matter forward, even against others’ disapproval. You take something messy and full of human neurosis – and treat it like the royal you are. You deserve a reward for this compassionate feat, and the best reward now is a week away far from the madding crowd. For all now is blessing your twelfth house of retreat. Retreat and healing and REST.

With brilliant Mercury moving into your sign of Leo July 2, followed by lovey Venus July 11, you will be called upon to star once again as July gets underway. Mercury, planet of speech, will have everyone listening to you, and Venus, planet of beauty and love, will have everyone attracted to you! In the area of relationships, however, you seem to feel you have little control. Pluto retrograde in your seventh house of relationships indicates that the only thing you can count on in this area is unexpected, and often sudden, change.

A health matter reaches a resolution Sunday, July 21, and may present itself in the form of a health crisis to get your attention. Leo is the healthiest horse in the stable and you rarely have physical problems, so just be aware of your tendency not to pay attention.

In this twelfth house of meditation you have: Almighty life-giving Sun (your natural ruler), beautiful Venus, brilliant Mercury, and a lovely new Moon on July 5. Write and record and reflect upon past creations, loves, and children and you will put something great into the world.

With the magical new Moon in your subconscious twelfth house, ideas will be pouring out of you. Honor this blessing by having a very special place you can go to receive these ideas. You need a private space, a “room of your own” as Virginia Woolf wrote.

I see you coming up with creative ideas for the new season, beginning a business start up, seeing visions of your new designs, and – some of you – connecting with the Goddess.

The great astrologer Debbi Kempton-Smith calls the twelfth house the God box, and I have to agree. This is where you go when you want to receive your ideas. After you respectfully ask for them. Your solitude must be honored.

And speaking of putting something great into the world. July is a prolifically creative and productive month for you. You soar, as you should be soaring, there is no disaster on the horizon, the sun is shining above in the clear pale blue sky.

So, count your blessings, dear Lion. You, whatever has happened – and it has been very epic with you, the shipwrecks you have had to sail on from have been ones of tremendous loss – and there is suffering – but you come out smiling like the roses. I am so very impressed and pleased, dear Leo.

A loved one may have betrayed you harshly. You may have had to wait longer in your quest for birth (waiting, I believe, is the hardest part of the human condition). You may have been feeling like a version of Sartre’s existential angst.

Don’t lose your temper with partners and associates, however childish they may act. Nor groups and organizations.

Communications planet Mercury in your sign from July 2 means that everything you say comes with added punch, and people will be deeply affected by your words. For better or worse! (So tread carefully if the situation demands it.)

Brilliant Mercury also brings clarity – he’s sharp, that one! – so as July really gets going you see and cut through issues like a laser. Don’t let anyone pull the wool over YOUR eyes. You won’t. And then, you can relax and enjoy being adored…

For Thursday, July 11 beauty planet Venus waltzes in Leo and you are the sign most likely to turn heads on the beach for all the weeks following. Whew! Just in time to enjoy the beach and to soak up the rays of your golden planetary ruler, the Sun.

This is actually the most private time of the year for you, a time when you need time to yourself as I said – just until the last week of July – (so comes my next horoscope!) – when you need to meditate and seek wisdom and create and be productive.

When your ruler the shining Sun is in the darkest house – the twelfth – it sometimes feels like the darkest time. It is the darkest before dawn. And you are being protected.

You learn much this July.

So take it easy. Ideas come when they come, when they are gifted, and there simply needs to be the space for them to come in. You need to always have that door open.

Many accomplish this with daily practices.

Daily practices of meditation, writing, designing, performing transform your life. You flourish when you are doing these things.

Coupled Lions, lean on your partner for support. Choose the one you love, love the one you chose. Again, you may count your blessings. And both of you remember to play. This is very, very important.

And if you are single, to play the field. As usual, you can get anyone you want – you really are the most attractive sign of the zodiac – so why settle for anyone less?

Power, power, power is the theme of your life, dear Lion! You ARE hot, no doubt about it. Just be careful your pretty paws don’t get burned with reckless fire.

It is better for you to go your own way, have some quiet alone time, than to head directly into the fray. The Sun, and your glorious ruler, is in your twelfth house of seclusion, and you will gain many psychic insights if you spend some time in there! Mysteries will be solved, and hidden feelings revealed.

You’ve had more than enough drama for a long while. And much of this energy has been concerning another person, their needs, their issues.

You’ve been sympathetic, generous, and kind. You’ve given time to helping everyone else, so naturally you’d like a break for yourself now.

You’ve had a lot of serious issues to deal with, and uncharacteristically for a lion, you’ve been worrying too much.

The worst is over and you’ve just begun to realize you can relax.  So, come July, you’d like to feel some relief, just have some…FUN. This month you may be surprised to find yourself feeling like someone about to bust out of jail!

Whatever you do, you won’t lose material things. Your financial sector is protected. Worst case scenario, you lose your marriage, but not your house. As long as no one gets hurt (including you), this will be a fabulous month.
