I don’t often give warnings but I am now, Aries: control your temper and think before you speak. I emphasize this because it’s also a very personal month. With your fourth house lit up, you’ll be feeling everything intensely.

You might feel the need to resist my sensible astrological advice to be patient, to think before you speak, et al – you’ve been trying awfully hard with a great many high expectations – so in case you do, here’s a story for you for this month. It’s an old story, one you might have heard before.

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly, with a very small opening in it. For several hours, he sat and watched as a butterfly struggled to force its body through the tiny hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress.

He peered into the hole and saw that the butterfly appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could – it could go no further. Wanting to help, the man took a pair of scissors and gently snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.

The butterfly emerged immediately and easily. But, to his surprise, the man saw that it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.

The man expected the wings to expand to support the body, but that did not happen. The butterfly was never able to fly; in fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its short life crawling around with shriveled wings and a swollen body.

What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the small opening of the cocoon was nature’s way of forcing fluid from its body into its wings.

This way, the butterfly would be ready for flight once it achieved freedom from the cocoon.

If you knew that you would become a butterfly at the right time, would your struggle be more meaningful? An excess of impatience can encourage you to take shortcuts, to avoid necessarily painful learning experiences.

Aries, sign of the charging-ahead ram, is often famous for her / his impatience.

If you feel held back by a cocoon, stop looking for the scissors and instead look at this time as the perfect opportunity to grow and to change!

You have learned something valuable about your life path – and possibly your career – at last. You’re reaching your own recognition phase. It will be a welcome relief. You can concentrate on what you want to concentrate on.

Let this time be easy, Aries – which may be the hardest thing for you to do – but this is what July needs to be.

Your energy and health improve, you are so much less burdened in all that you have to do, and a brilliant plan you’ve been hatching – possibly with a friend – is born.

And guess what? You won’t be able to control the results – don’t even try. As frustrating as this may be, do your best to embrace what the universe is bringing you. Remember, you’ve planted the seeds, you’ve done the work, and now it’s your turn to receive the consequent rewards.

A promotion and more money is forthcoming. Oh, what joy!

You also hear from a person in your professional circle who has been difficult to pin down. He or she has been absent in some way, and it has been somewhat infuriating.

Joy…when did you last feel joy? Really think. You have the ability to feel it every day. In a sky you see that is beautiful, in a loving word said by someone you love, in your amazing pets, in an accomplishment.

The best thing is when someone tells you they love you.

And why is that?

Aries, for all its bravery and confidence, is always scared that someone doesn’t like them. This is the secret chink in your armor.

This is less about your ego, than about your chosen lifetime (this time round) under your chosen ruler, Mars, the planet of war. Mars natives are warriors. You have passion – and some of it is for war. Of course, some people will not like you. You have people who are against you. You are a warrior!

You can fight anything you want. Let it be for a good cause – you’ll always feel better.

Love your Mars. Love yourself.

Now…the only remaining good tip on this is — choose your battles wisely. From your love partner who continues to frustrate you with his / her completely weird (ie. different) ways of doing things, to associates at work challenging you, choose your battles.

Please don’t resent anyone. Everyone really is doing the best they can.
