Unusually vulnerable you feels a sea change in the area of home related to family. You think of your original family home. The wound kills that does not bleed. (By poet Wallace Stevens, who had his Saturn in Aries.) Best to talk it out with friends than hold it deep inside. Even if you do look at your parent(s) differently than before. (Your patience is frequently tested.) But then socialite you has your public house all lit up Tuesday, July 16, and you see the rewards of this new life path!
If you’ve been confused, as in under the weather, it clears up; eclipses bring dramatic vision and you get two of them this month. July will be something else. You’re probably already thinking, what is going on? Remember Mercury retrograde does happen this month – July 7 to July 31 – and it’s happening in your fifth and fourth houses, in love affairs (including affairs with works of art) and family, so exercise your patience with them.
First, Tuesday, July 2, there’s the total solar eclipse at 10 degrees and 38 minutes of Cancer. The eclipse point itself is sextile Uranus and opposes Saturn so expect the unexpected – and quite seriously – wherever you have Cancer in your chart. (If you don’t have any planets in Cancer, look at where Cancer appears on the outside of your chart.)
The U.S.A. cannot help but be, as Cancer Sun with Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter in Cancer, powerfully affected by this eclipse. It will be felt most keenly July 4, Independence Day.
For you, Aries – look at your fourth house (Cancer on the outside of your chart, especially if you’re Aries rising), ruling your childhood home, property, and parents in general. This, no doubt, will have been affected already, but July 2 will be the rising wave, the culmination, the earthquake. If in the U.S., you will feel this keenly on Independence Day. In this most personal area, there will be an ending and a beginning, strongly felt, with no going back.
For everyone, surgical operations are a big NO-NO during the eclipse, and particularly on the areas ruled by Cancer: stomach, breasts, and ovaries. This includes cosmetic surgery such as liposuction, breast alteration, etc. This practice was first attributed to Hippocrates, the grandfather of modern medicine (physicians still have to take the Hippocratic Oath, doncha know.)
The other time to watch out for this is two weeks later, on Tuesday, July 16, with the partial lunar eclipse full Moon in Capricorn. At this time, it is advisable not to have surgery, particularly on the areas ruled by Capricorn: bones and teeth. Otherwise, there are those “complications.”
Then July is all about home and property, and you taking it easy and enjoying more. Relishing a private life which has been fraught or lacking. You’ve been troubled by end of the world scenarios: never a good thing.
But just see what gorgeous planets you’re hosting in your fourth personal house!
Your ruler, powerful Mars
Sharp-thinking Mercury (going into retrograde July 7 to July 31)
Planet of love and beauty Venus as of Wednesday, July 3
Pallas, goddess of wisdom, sprung from Jupiter’s brow (2nd only in importance to Jupiter)
A total solar eclipse new Moon late Tuesday, July 2 – leading to a new direction for you personally.
You’ll be feeling better in no time, dear Aries, don’t you fret. This partial eclipse opposes Pluto retrograde in your tenth career house, so there will be a professional change due to a new opportunity. Eliminate the unnecessary in your work for the happiest outcome. You might find, for example, that you’re doing too much, and better results come from you doing less!
And what all does your fourth house rule?
Your fourth house, traditionally ruled by survivalist Cancer, rules:
Beginnings and endings
Your personal life
Your early family – includes mom, pop, siblings, grandparents, etc.
Your early life through childhood
Land and agriculture
Security and protection
Ancient and deep-seated bonds between you and others
There’s extra emphasis on your home right now, and many of you will be renovating, as well as buying or selling. Early family members are also much more in the picture than usual.
You’ve been working your darnednest – and now it is time to take a break. And then you breathe a whole lot easier…
You might feel the need to resist my sensible astrological advice – you’ve been trying awfully hard with a great many high expectations – so in case you do, here’s a story for you for this month. It’s an old story, one you might have heard before…
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly, with a very small opening in it. For several hours, he sat and watched as a butterfly struggled to force her body through the tiny hole. Then she seemed to stop making any progress.
He peered into the hole and saw that the butterfly appeared as if she had gotten as far as she could – she could go no further. Wanting to help, the man took a pair of scissors and gently snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.
The butterfly emerged immediately and easily. But, to his surprise, the man saw that she had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.
The man expected the wings to expand to support the body, but that did not happen. The butterfly was never able to fly; in fact, the butterfly spent the rest of her short life crawling around with shriveled wings and a swollen body before she died.
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the small opening of the cocoon was nature’s way of forcing fluid from her body into her wings.
This way, the butterfly would be ready for flight once she achieved freedom from the cocoon.
If you knew that you would become a butterfly at the right time, would your struggle be more meaningful? An excess of impatience can encourage you to take shortcuts, to avoid necessarily painful learning experiences.
Aries, sign of the charging-ahead ram, is often famous for her / his impatience.
If you feel held back by a cocoon, stop looking for the scissors and instead look at this time as the perfect opportunity to grow and to change!
Pluto’s transit through your tenth house is your year of graduation. You have learned something valuable about your life path – and possibly your career – at last.
You are reaching your own recognition phase. It will be a welcome relief. You can concentrate on what you want to concentrate on.
Let this time be easy, dear Aries – which may be the hardest thing for you to do – but this is what July needs to be. You will see!
Your energy and health improve, you are so much less burdened in all that you have to do, and a brilliant plan you’ve been hatching – possibly with a friend – is born.
You’ll also hear from a person in your professional circle who has been difficult to pin down. He or she has been absent in some way, and it has been somewhat infuriating.
Aries, for all the bravery and confidence, is always scared that someone doesn’t like them. This is the secret chink in your armor.
We are going to heal this right now. Save yourself thirty years’ worth of therapy!
Take a deep breath. Deep. In.
Mars natives are warriors. You have passion – and some of it is for war. You are a warrior!
You can fight anything you want. Let it be for a good cause – you’ll always feel better.
Love your Mars. Love yourself.
Now…the only remaining good tip on this is — choose your battles wisely. From parents to associates, choose your battles.
It’s a tough time astrologically for everyone right now.
Lucky surprise – Chiron goes retrograde in Aries on Friday, July 2, and relieves some of the pain. In fact, you’re the first one in the Zodiac to bounce back!
If things are raining down in your home, you soon see bright rainbows.
